twoika,

You have a few choices for wired LAN.

1) If you have DSL version 2.2, get the bcm5700.tar.gz extension from the mydsl repository and load it to your computer either using MSWindows or using a different computer and a thumbdrive or a floppy disk.

2) Get DSL version 2.1b

For wireless support, you can use DSL version 2.1b and get the ipw2200-k2.4.31.dsl extension from the repository.

Thanks cbagger01,
I did not test this out yet, but I was sorry to not tell that I do not use the wireless function. I do not need it now, and try to use the LAN and wired.

I AM STUCKED    :no supported network, and I tried the solutions in this thread without more luck than listing up network details. But I may understand that it's needed either to get another driver to my netcard or use another and little bit older version of the DSL, am I right?

very glad for reponse and thanks in advance..

this appears to be so for me too... 2.1b works perfectly for me on my dell precision 370...
2.2b not only doesn't recognize my Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller but it also does not recognize my SATA HD. I can run 2.1b just fine, why not 2.2b?

Thanks again, I will try your advice, but before that I suddently came to think of adding the norwegian character set for the keyboard, is this neccesary, or optional inside the DSL?  excuse me for asking that in this channel, but if you do not know, or like to answear it I will be grateful to know what thread I should use for this question. I think that if your proposed vesion will work there will be more to add....  since I am a newbie in this, I need to learn howto copy and add and maybe compile it on the memorystick.....

Sorry for your trouble and thanks again in advance...

If you have a HD install you can put "loadkeys no" (without quotes) in /opt/bootlocal.sh. If you run the live CD:
crtl+alt+backspace (this kills X)
loadkeys no
startx (to restart X)
