Hi
First of all i most thank the creators of DSL for making such a genius distro.
I have been trying to make my internett connection and networking up and running for days now, but now im about to give up with my setup, unless someone have a good idea, i think there must be something seriously wrong with one of my ethercards, even tho they are new.
My setup is as following;
dsl modem (192.168,1.1) comes into the linux on ether0,(192.168.1.2), then linux ether2 (192.168.0.1) goes from linux into winXP machine with ether3 (192.168.0.2)
ether2 has gateway(192.168.0.2) to ether3. ether3 has gateway (192.168.1.1) to the modem. theese two cards is connected by crossed tp cable.
every card and modem has subnett 255.255,255.0
im unsure on what broadcast adresses, and gateways to really use, especaly on ether 2 and 3, and where to put dhcp on, if anywhere?. and im also not sure on what to put in for name/dns servers.
i want to be able to use the internett thru the dsl machine from winxp, and also be able to share files between the machines.
i have tried many diffrent setups for nameservers, ip adresses etc, but no matter what i do im not able to ping either of the machines,and if i try using the webbrowser i get the message "connection not accepted" so there must be something seriously wrong with what i have done, or the hardware. i also disabled all the firewalls, except for maybe in the dsl, if there is one there, i havent found it yet.
im very greatfull for any help.
Thanks in advance
