Hello DSL people,

Well I'm posting this using Knoppix 4.0 and my Syntax USB 11b network adapter

So I'm a little confused DSL is a stripped down Knoppix right? So ndiswrapper in knoppix 4.0 accepts my inf file and allows me to configure my wireless usb device but when I do the same thing in DSL I get inf installed but hadware not present.

After I do a Prisim2 I can do iwconfig and it sees everything I also can configure everyting except the wep key when I try to do that it says that service is not available?

When I turn off wep on my router I can connect to the internet using dsl and my usb wireless adapater. Can someone offer some tips on how to activate the wep feature many thanks

DSL is based on KNOPPIX 3.4

So if it works on KNOPPIX 3.4, it probably works on DSL.

DSL version 2.1b is a somewhat updated version. It has linux kernel 2.4.31 and I think a newer version of ndiswrapper. So your choices at the moment are:

DSL version 2.2b for kernel 2.4.26

and

DSL version 2.1b for kernel 2.4.31

could be how you are entering the wep key - as I recall, using the prism2 option in the control panel the wep key needs to be entered with a colon delimeter eg 12:34:56:78:90

FYI, there was a typing error in the prism2 script WEP function that got fixed in the lastest version of DSL. If you have an older version of DSL you can fix the typo yourself.
