Hey guys,
I just installed DSL 2.1b as a hd-install on an old (133mhz) Fujitsu laptop. The laptop has no ethernet card built in, So I put in a MultiMobile 10mb card in. I can see that dsl sees the card, but it is "unknown". I tried the netcardconfig thing, but DSL says to ethernet card detected. DSL 2.3 doesn't detect it either.

Any ideas on how to get this thing working?

Thanks :)

See if some of these work. First, try this one.  Open a terminal window and type:

sudo su
modprobe ne
netcardconfig

If that doesn't work, try again, but replace the "ne" with "ne2".  If that doesn't work, try "ne2k-pci".  If that doesn't work, try "8390".  If all else fails, try "pcnet_cs".

This is just a shot in the dark, but one of them might work.  Good Luck.
