If your using a 98 box as your internet sharing focal point, you're probably not using dhcp to distribute ip addresses, but assigning them manually to all the computers.
You 'll also need to setup correctly the netmasks, and especially the gateway addresses for the other boxes. Normally, DHCP does this for you..
Usually, the gateway ip-address should be the one you assigned to the network card on the LAN side of your 98 box..
The netmask is determined by the type of network and the ip-group you selected to use with your lan..
Search the forums for an "add route" command for your DSL box.
