Hi!

I am running DSL on an old P133 Laptop, and it works great! I never thought anything that old could be that fast!

However, I struggle with my WLAN setup. I am using an ZyXEL ZyAIR/100 wireless network card that my DSL identifies without problems (and the lights on the card are blinking!:-).

Also, DSL recognizes my host's IP-adress. Still, whenever I try to access the web, there is no connection. What could have I done wrong? The network itself is OK, as I am running it by a router on my other computer (WIN XP).

Is there anybody out there would care to help a newbie like me to acess the my wireless network? Is there a link to a WLAN setup guide somewhere in the DSL forums?

It seems that you've gotten over the biggest hurdle in that your card is recognized and it installs.

If you haven't already done so, you need to start up WLANconfig from the DSL Control Panel.  You should be able to get up and running by entering just two parameters - your SSID and encryption key.  Leave all the other entries blank.

Maybe it's the encryption key that it giving you hassles. You need to put : after each pair of characters in the key.

i've tried to remove any security encryption on my router, but still I can't access the web from DSL...  I have started to believe that the problems could be in my router. There are several different options to chose from in the router setup, perhaps some of them are better equipped to linux?

What kind of router are you running?  I don't think it's a matter of Linux incompatibility, as at the level the network is running , it's pretty much just one black box talking to another.
