Hello,
I've asked this question already, but, you know, it's kind of hard to learn, I guess.
I try to connect to the Internet via an ADLS connexion, with a Speedstream 5200 modem with the Ethernet card. I obviously do something wrong since I was able to do it once but no more for two weeks now. That's very frustrating, because I know I do something wrong but I can't figure out what.
I had help from Doobit in another post and I thank him very much but I think I'll have to get some more help.
Could someone please tell me what to do, step by step?
Here's what I do
1 I open the Control Panel 2 I make sure that DHCP button is "on" 3 I run netcardconfig and click no at the first question and I confirm the server addresses which are sent by my Internet provider 4 I run pppoeconf to enter my username and password
and I test the link in Dillo web browser but I can't get to the Internet (DNS cannot resolve)
and when I type pon in the terminal, I get that nasty message (which I have now read for a significant number of time):
SIOCSIFFLAG: permission denied /usr/sbin/pppd: can't open option file etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider: permission denied
My Internet provider is Bell Sympatico.
Thanks.
