I have a Linksys wireless usb adaptor that uses a Prism chip ver 2.5.  When i boot  ver  2.4RC2 of DSL it shows a Prism2 setup box in the Control Panel accessed at the Desktop. The  setup shows -----Wlan0----Channel 11-----Sid (blank)-----Wep (blank)-----.

A.  Nothing happens here unless I unplug the adaptor and replug the adaptor into the same usb port.   Please advise why this is necessary inasmuch as Hotplug sees the adaptor at boot up (002).

B.  If I correct the channel to 9 and enter the correct essid, leave Wep blank and click OK i get connected to the internet and surfing is fine HOWEVER  If I go back to Prism2 setup in the Control Panel the incorrect entries have been restored but oddly enough the internet still works. Please advise why the corrections i made to Prism2 setup were not retained. If they were i would probably be connected to the internet every time i reboot. It is very frustrating when changes are changed back by the software. I am using a 512 mb pen drive so there is ample space for backup of changes.

Answers sincerely appreciated.
