I have a fresh install of DSL on my laptop, and WinXP Pro on my desktop.  My desktop is using wireless but connected to my laptop using ethernet.  On DSL, I got eth0 running, broadcasted it an ip, and am trying to connect to my desktop using smbclient.  I enter the Domain as MSHOME (the workgroup on my desktop), the Machine as DESKTOP (machine's name on workgroup), Share as Shared Documents, Name as Ryan, and password as the password for Ryan on the Windows desktop.  But, when I press connect, I get a blue screen in a terminal for about half a second, and then it dissapears.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.

use the ip address of your desktop as both the domain and computer address.
also if your username or share name have spaces.. put quotes around them.

ie: if your desktop is 192.168.1.100 then:

Domain: 192.168.1.100
Machine: 192.168.1.100
Share: c$
Name: "First Last"
Password: password
