My MA402 card works really well upon boot and finds "open" networks.  My issue is that where I work, the system's SSID broadcast is off.  I have the settings that I put into Wlanconfig but when I do this, a script runs really fast, closes, then the light on the card goes off.

I have said yes to DHCP... as the wireless router is set up to configure/assign the settings.  The results are the same.

Am I missing something?

I use several wireless cards on a non-broadcast sid network without any problems.

Need more information as so why you are?
Are you connecting to an open network and is that the problem?
