Hello im new to DSL and linux, i just aquired a new Dell inspiron 1501 with a dell wireless1490 dual band wlan card, chipset BCM 4312/ BCM 2050.
I booted DSL with no problem from live cd everything seems to work except for the network. Am I not able to network because my card is not supported? Is there something i can do to make it work? Any help would be great. Thanks

According to ndiswrapper. It uses Chipset: Broadcom BCM4310 (rev 01). This thread may help you.
You can use backup/restore into a USB Pendrive or HDD. It will save /home/dsl and /opt for you.

You can use Emelfm ... on right side ... open /mnt ... then you will see cdrom/ ... right click ... select mount
Now, you can select files and click copy button.  :D
