I've got one more website to write and then I can play with DSL. I'm planning on building a little embedded system for fun but at present I use an old Compaq Presario (256mb of RAM, Coppermine processor ~500Mhz) to run Ubuntu as a webserver. Now that I've booted up DSL on it, and it FLIES, I'm kinda thinking that DSL would be the better option, but....

How difficult is it to turn DSL into a webserver? Install apt-get and run Apache?

We have lighttpd small webserver in the repository.
But for heavy lifting I would recommend the XAMPP project.
It easily installs to /opt and works great with DSL.

I'm aware of XAMPP but I'm not keen on off-the-shelf stuff when I'm used to configuring a LAMP environment via APT-GET (ie. manually installing Apache, PHP, GD, etc)..

However, I've got a spare HDD here somewhere, I'll give it a shot
