first I want to thank the creators of DSL, it's been a great experience learing Linux through playing with it, especially that it helped my 8 year old laptop (133Mhz 32MB) get back to life..

I am having an issue with the wireless card, it will only work if I associate it with a network that has a one word SSID, so if I attach it to a network called "home1" for example, it'll work fine, but if the SSID has spaces in it like "home network1" for example, it does not connect..
I would rather not change the SSID from the router as I don't broadcast it, which means I'll have to change it in all the other computers.

Have you tried not using "'s and escaping the spaces?

SSID=something\ like\ this\ might\ work

Worth a shot.

Hope it works out for you =)

If you're only using the Wireless configuration script thing, a manual setting of the SSID might be in order, if the script isn't doing it properly.

Some scripts have difficulty handling entries that contain spaces.

For example, the wordview, pptview and xlview scripts will choke if your MS document file name contains a space character.

They still choke even with escaped characters.

Your best bet is to either manually activate your wlan card using the command line programs that are called by the script, or better yet go into your router software and replace the spaces with underscores in the SSID name.

This is a good bug find that might get fixed in a future version of DSL.
