Hello.

I have been trying to get DSL 1.1 running in Bochs.
It works for the most part, however DSL does not recognize the NE2000 adapter. I've read some places that some debian kernel versions near 2.4.x dont support the NE2000.

The adapter seems to be configured properly in Bochs (I do not receive any errors from Bochs). Is this normal? If not, is there a way to get the NE2000 working with some sort of kernel extension? Would I have to recompile/download another kernel?

Chuck

DSL works fine with the NE2000 adapter.

In fact, the QEMU program that is used to run DSL-embedded also uses a simulated NE2000 adapter.

Is your Bochs adapter a PCI one or an ISA one?

If it is an ISA one then you will need to manually load the driver from inside an xterminal window:

sudo du
modprobe ne
netcardconfig
exit
exit
