Here is what i have:

Orinoco Gold classic (Entrasys/Cabletron Roamabout DS)
Laptop running win98 and DSL 1.0rc1.
No special drivers nothing

I also have a computer that has a cheap airlink G card that acts as my access point through a application that it came with.

Now I can ping my computer that uses the airlink through DSL (latpop to access point). So I know that the Orinoco works. However when I open up the latest version of Airsnort for DSL (0.2.7 GTK2 version) it just seems to work but no networks are showing up. After browsing around the airsnort site i figured out that i need to get a patched driver. Here is where i am stuck. What do i need to do to get the patched driver working? The final result should be that i can run airsnort and have it recognize various networks.

PS I do have the GTK2 library installed through the mydsl thing.

I had just about the same setup. I suggest you do what this article says: Mikes Guide to Airsnort in XP. I did what it said and it works great for me!

I have worked been testing around with airsnort on windows 98se and i seem to have a lot of luck. Here is where i am:

> Have got Airsnort to open up.
> Have got Airsnort to enumerate my wireless card.

<Havent got Airsnort to actually capture packets.

The problem I believe is in device naming. On my computer that has XP I have the same card stuck into it and it recoginizes it and works fine. The only key difference is that under device (on the working xp computer) its says
Code Sample
"/Device/C8JKFGHLDKSA (the card ID)

On the other one (windows 98se) it shows:
Code Sample
"/Device/"

I seem to have covered everything that needs to be covered. I told it where to find the nessecary packages (Gtk, glib, pango, atk, etc.).

Any suggestions?

Hello

the orinoco dosen't work together with airsnort in dsl, because you don't have a pached kernel module of the orinoco.o . i have tried to build it by my self but i didn't find a patch command under dsl.
does anyone have the "patch" command for dsl or a modified kernel module ?
this are my first steps on dsl, so a lot what i write could be wrong.

sorry about my english
