Quote (jimbo62 @ April 26 2005,18:07) | Chris, if you think I was "given" the answer to my question, you tell me how to fix it. You won't, because you are just another Linux snob.
Well, I have it fixed, no thanks to any resident Linux geek. |
Jimbo -
Yes, you were given the answer.
1.Ke4nt gave you a link to a very detailed USB howto that included setup of the exact same card you referenced here.
2. Cbagger01 gave you detailed instructions on properly using the forum search. This would not only help you here but in any other forum you decide to join.
3. Ke4nt gave you the actual search criteria to find multiple threads containing answers you were looking for. He could have sent you a link to just one thread but that might have left out important info you could have learned from another thread.
How to save your settings is in the getting started document everytime you boot DSL.
I personally am writing screenshot step by step howto's for beginners you can find right here in the forums. I have one on Printing and the MyDSL system. Would a 'linux snob' do that?
Truth is, we gave you the same advise I would give my own kids when looking for an answer to a problem.
Bottom line here is that you did not approach this the correct way. People attempted to help you but you refused to see the forest for the trees.
I have to say I am amazed at how many people perceive this arrogance in Linux. They give the impression that the Windows developers sit around with an open line to the users to be at their beck and call. If truth be known, if they asked basic questions in a Windows forum they would probably be told to go search the Microsoft Knowledgebase.
Jimbo, we are trying to help you learn. try to embrace it instead of fighting.
Good luck
Chris
