iv installed rh9 and compiled the above driver for both standard wireless tx/rx and also as an access point driver.
iv tryed making live cd,s in the past but no joy but a standard rh install and compile of the above worked first time for me a newb LOL.
i hope some wiz might be able to compile this rtl8180 rh drive for use with all the wirless combilations.
DSL,locust,whatever.
personaly im after 1 thing, a working http://uk.locustworld.com/ MeshAP that i can just burn to cd, and use the rtl8180 11b cards i have and/or the http://acx100.sourceforge.net/ acx100 version 0.2.0pre8 driver that also works very nice at 11g rtl wlg-1201 /peak wpg2400 pci.
anyone fancy tying to make a fully working mesh with DSL at its center ,1 version with the drivers above i.e not the usual Prism 2 chipset ect thats on EVERY linux cd out there so rtl/acx/WB140 E (usb ) people are up a creek without a paddle unless you can compile and tech stuff.
1 version with ALL the tools to compile, make a live cd should you not have your driver on the first cd but one becomes available in time.#
the top and bottom of it is , a simple working mesh that can run off cd, usb drive, hd installed (easy as posible) and added to by your average end user that wants to try.
iv got loads of old dell 233 128meg/20gig working machines that i'd like to mesh at both 11b and 11g for local friends to setup a community wireless useing them as the base backbone.
oneone seems interested in providing anything but Prism 2 chipset based options, locust seems like the best idea but they dont seem to answer email or see fit to provide a web based message board, shame, such potential, wasted.
can YOU do better LOL i'm SURE you CAN........
WILL YOU ?....................
thanks for reading.
try to compile that official rtl driver it works good on RH, i hope it can work on DSL too.
