Topic: no internet on old pc, need mod for DEC ethernet controller

hi DSL folks,

how do i make my internet work?

i have ADSL modem plugged into my ethernet port.

Damn Small works great on my new pc, but on my old pc i cant get online.

i got old pc online in knoppix, by using modconf and installing << tulip >> module for
<< Digital Equipment Corporation DECchip 21142/43 (rev 41) >>

in DSL i tried

>>system >> net setup >> netcardconfig
and
>> sysytem >> net setup >> ..PPPoE setup

...but no joy

i tried browsing dsl forums. but couldnt find anything to help.
i also tried
modprobe tulip
but that didnt work

i'm new at linux! please help

Hmm...

My guess would have been to open up and xterm and type

sudo su
modprobe tulip
pppoeconfig (or whatever it's called.)
exit
exit

Try searching google for your network card and KNOPPIX, and also your aDSL system and KNOPPIX.

Any solution that applied to KNOPPIX version 3.7 or older should also work with DSL.
