Hey,

I' ve tested damn small linux with the poor man install (no cd rom on my pc) - setting all the files to C:\KNOPPIX\KNOPPIX. It works fine, and even my ethernet card is recognized.

So I decided to install damn small linux on my hard disk. I take the frugal_lite.sh for that as it is described here:
http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki....tall%29

Now I have a working installation of damn small linux on my PC (no other OS on it), But the pcmcia card (it is a Fiberline FE 1500, 10/100 Fast Ethernet) is not recognized anymore. During boot I get an error after starting the card manager:
<modprobe exited with status 255 - can't find file memory_cs>
(something like that).

UPDATE: I deleted all entries in the file /etc/pcmcia/config with the expression memory_cs (I don't have a file memory_cs.o in my filesystem), so the error above ist gone. But the card is still not supported.
I added in the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file some lines:

card "Dual Speed"
 version "Dual Speed", "10/100 PC Card", "1.0", " "
 manfid 0x0149, 0xc1ab
 bind "pcnet_cs"

These lines helped during the poor man installation to recognize the card under the distribution tomsrtbt - but no effect on 'damn small linux'  - damned!

Any suggestions?

Joe

No one?

Nevermind - I do the whole installation once again and now it works.

The only difference: I take Lilo insteaf of Grub as the bootloader. Maybe that is the point or maybe it is just luck :)

Greetings,
Joe
