I've used DSL in the past when I was a linux newbie and over the last couple of years I've tried several other distros but would like to go back to DSL now since I like the idea of having a minimal linux install. I tried the dsl 2.0 rc1 which I liked except my laptop would freeze up after a short period of time (usually an hour or less). It seems other people had similar problems when I searched thru the forums here but I haven't seen a resolution. I have an internal broadcom wireless card in my laptop which uses the bcmwl5.inf driver in ndiswrapper. I currently use that same driver in mepis and have no trouble whatsoever. I figured I'd wait until the official DSL 2.0 came out so I gave it a try today but now I can't even get the driver to work from the live cd. I re-booted and tried again and keep getting a connection failed with the gui tool. I went back and tried the dsl 2.0rc1 cd and I can connect. Not sure what happened between rc1 and the final release but it unfortunately doesn't work for me.
