i have a tecra 730xcdt and though i can't get sound to automatically start using the bootlocal.sh i can get it working by opening aTerminal and typing
sudo modprobe cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0
and hitting return.

i can then listen to mp3s using xmms

next time you can up-arrow in aTerminal to retrieve this modprobe line.
