i have an older sony vaio PCG-C1VE and is that big like a VHS video casette, i installed DSL 2.0 on it and started up, setted up w-lan and other things, but only the screen resolution i can not change to a higher one, the notebook have a 1024x480res and i get only one with 640x480, becaue it will set up automaticly to 640x480res when i start X with startx. i tryed to setup with xsetup.sh but no chance, also i looked with MC ...

how can i set it up X and display resulation manually?
who can help me?

DSL comes with the lightweight Xvesa X-server and (I believe) it only supports the standard resolutions. You have to install the myDSL XFree86 package and edit the config file.
