how can i disable all power managment and battery status on
dsl because i will use gpsdrive on dsl

Hey all. I've been using the latest version of DSL, and I was wondering how to actually turn this back on. I'm using an IBM thinkpad t22, and not being hugely linux literate, I was hoping someone could show me in the direction on the file that best resembles autoexec.bat in windows, the boot file in other words. It seems that it includes the line "noacpi", which I need to remove so I can get back my battery status indicator. I have no idea where to look :(

Try /boot/grub/menu.lst.
