DSL will mis-detect this card, and therefore, set it up incorrectly.
After quite a lot of research, I've devised a single - line solution.

Open a shell prompt, and type:

sudo modprobe cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0

and then try playing an mp3 file - you should have sound!!!
