Hi!
I have a problem whit my ooold compaq contura 430C (486DX4 100Mhz 8MB RAM 2GB HD).
I made a "poor man instalation", after this my DSL runs ok on my laptop whit 8MB ram and a swap partition (Incredible, ins't it?) but when I enter on X, Frame buffer give a fatal error and Xvesa loads a desktop with colours altered and out of size windows. I've tried some topics of this forum without results.
My laptop has a 640x480 256 colours graphic adapter. I don't know what chipset is...
In Xvesa i don't have icons & dillo, xpdf, etc, doens't work.
Xfbdev error is like
modprobe : modprobe : can't locate module fb0
XIO fatal error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests
(0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
If somebody can help me, please reply my post.
