I have a cable to connect my laptops hard drve to my desktop so I can do a hard rive install. I'm most concerned with the way linux is setup. When I move the hard drive back will linux auto-detect all the hardware (like with live-cd) or will I have to manually change the settings?

Thank you for any help

Hi there,

I had to do a similar thing with my laptop. If your installing DSL, whether its from the CD or a HD install the hardware will still be autodetected on every bootup.

Hope this helps.
