My hardware is very weak. <100MHz, 16MB, 320MB of HDD.
No CD-ROM, No USB, No Network.

There is a bright side, I have a parallel ZIP drive (100MB).

Basically, I'm attracted to DSL cause I can't install Windows 95. I don't want internet, multimedia, or games.

I want a good, feature rich word processor. DSL is the smallest linux distro that has a GUI and a decent support base.

My question is, with 16MB of RAM, is DSL worth installing for Word Processing? Would it be too slow?

If you're kind enough and know of any other low-end GUI distros, that would be very helpful as well.

DSL comes with TED which may/may not be good enough (http://www.nllgg.nl/ted/).

Another alternative is AbiWord whose system requirements is: http://www.abisource.com/support/require/. There is an old myDSL version (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/damnsmall/mydsl/apps/).

I haven't used any of them, so I would't know if they are "a good, feature rich word processor".
