Hello Everyone,

Here is my very first DSL post.  I have a brand new shiny Toshiba Satellite laptop.  I do not want to take the chance to mess with the windows installation so I will run a live CD or a Flash Pendrive install.  When I run DSL via qemu off of a 512mb pendrive the DSL window is placed pretty far down on the monitor that I can't see the time or the workspaces.  Is there a way to move the screen up? The resolution on the laptop is 1280x800.  When I click on the .bat file I don't get boot up options.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So far what I have seen DSL is excellent.  Everything appears to work out of the box for me just the placement of the window.

Thanks,
Kaos

in qemu: hit ctrl+alt to release the focus then manually drag your window anywhere.

OK, that worked.  However, I am still just right underneath the Windows Vista Task Bar across the bottom of the screen. Bummer, I just need a little bit more real estate or make the
screen a little bit smaller.  Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks for the help you have offered so.

I just tried Puppy Linux - Live CD.  That didn't work so well.  I am going to have to play with the internet connect a bit just to get on the internet.  DSL thought worked right off the bat for me.  GREAT WORK!!

Regards,
Kaos

I got it.  What I ended up doing is 'autohiding' the taskbar and that gave me just enough space.  I can now see the whole screen of DSL.

Thanks again for all your help.
