You don't need to create another partition.

Just use Windows Explorer or the DOS xcopy command to copy the files over to your existing C:\ drive

So when you are finished, you will have a C:\KNOPPIX\ directory.

Then use the DSL boot floppy to start it up.

In other words:

Don't insert the floppy = computer boots up Windows 95/98/MSDOS normally
Insert the floppy = computer boots up DSL
