Hi-
I just installed DSL1.2 on an old Toshiba laptop yesterday. Specs are P133MHz, 32MB RAM, 1.3GBHD.. Runs fine. I do have a few questions.
How do i get Wmix ro auto-run on startup? Also, how do i set the date? I see nowhere in the BIOS to set the date. I can set it in Linux using the date -s command in the console, but it doesnt stick when i boot up again.

Also, is there a way to get a battery meter?

Thanks for your time, and this is a great product!
Keep up the good work, you brought life to somehting i was goin to throw away!

I have a very similar laptop running DSL (460CDX), smoking fast isn't it?
Your BIOS battery is dead, that is why it does not keep the date when you set it, it's cheaply available and super easy to install, just the 3 front case screws.
not sure about the battery meter, maybe somebody can chime it on that one.
peace.

thanks for the battery tip.
As for the modprobe sb, i believe i need to add it to a startup script.
WOuld someone be so kind as to help me with this? Apparently i am using the wrong search terms, or i am just missing something.
I would assume i would edit /etc/modules.conf or /etc/modprobe.conf, but i would like some confirmation before screwing up a system that is already working.

Thanks,

try adding it to /opt/bootlocal.sh.

Please use the search function. Making something exectute at boot is a very common question and has been answered many, many times.
