I'm currently running DSL on an old Compaq presario 1220 laptop (cyrix 233mhz 32mb ram).

I have an epass usb 2.0 card bus here I'd like to use.  However, when I put the card in nothing happens.  No power, no system recognition. (PCMCIA modem works fine).

I think that this old laptop may not support 32 bit cardbus but I can't find the info online.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks :)

A quick google search on

Compaq Presario 1220 cardbus

revealed:

http://developer.novell.com/yes/38438.htm

A Novell test using this laptop and a Cardbus network/modem card.

Also, this laptop is mentioned in the PCMCIA howto:

hmmm...I guess I did see that how-to, but missed the 1220 reference.

Still, that card you mention is a 16bit, not 32 bit.  I haven't been able to determine for sure if this system supports 32-bit cardbus.

I'll carefully read through the how-to...but, a lot of it is greek to me.

Thanks again :)
