They are a tar.gz format.
Look at them with tar -ztf name.dsl

You need the z option when manipulating them

You have been warned. they are not intended for Debian Hard Drive Installations.
You are in a sense installing a "foreign package" like any other zipped tarball.

oups, sorry i didn't understand you :D

But i see something strange in the fluxbox menu. I have e new part in the menu, MyDSL and inside, i can see abiword...and it works.
To be honest i don't understand why i've got it. I try to install an another program with MyDSL but nothing on the desktop or in the menu.

If you've got an idea^^
It's the first time i don't understand how to install a program on linux

If you are a new user to Linux then DO NOT run your system as root!

I wonder where this concept it comming from???
I can only imagine.

If you login as user dsl things will load as expected.

Still I never intended mydsl extensions to be used with Debian Hard Drive Installations.

I am tired of the posts that state  DSL has no package management!

Use the proper tool for the proper job, as intended, and you will find life so much easier! Otherwise accept the consequences of your decision.

When i run MyDSL and when i want to install programs on the HDD, i have the following message :"Non DSL User error".

MyDSL works for user dsl. Try logging in as dsl and it'll work.
