Forum Substitute
From DSL Wiki
If the forum isn't working for you, please edit the "Problem with Forums" section of this article to provide a statement of what you have tried and what alternate means the administrator(s) can use to contact you, for example, an email address of the form "user_at_example.com". And feel free to ask about any other problems you have.
If your question doesn't get answered within one week, send a note to "dsl.reg at gmail.com" noting you have a waiting question on

Problem with Forums
Information, please.
We need to find some pattern to this problem. Please provide the following information:
Forum User: DSL Forum user name
Wiki User: DSL Wiki user name
If you create a user here on the Wiki, we can use the discussion (talk) page to communicate. The Wiki seems to be more reliable for that. The Wiki name can be the same as the Forum name.
Contact: Contact information, for example, UserName_at_example.com
Please don't use the form username@example.com. There are several email address harvester robots that look everywhere for that form and add the information found to SPAM email lists.
OS: Operating system used including version number
Browser: Browser used including version number
Users having problems
Please note: This Wiki article exists because there is a DSL community. Several of us have tried to get John to make a public statement about what the problem is. John did not request the information noted here. I tried requesting information here so he could debug the problem. Apparently this information has not been sufficient to get the problem fixed.

I have the same problem as the other users here: I've followed the forum subscription guidelines and have emailed the gmail address, but still don't have posting permissions. Instead of using the forums, I have contributed to the wiki, at the following page: Edimax EW-7608Pg

Squid user
- I can access the forum from Dillo within DSL. Firefox--v1.0.6 from within DSL or v2.0.0.12 from without--cannot get past the top-level page. All the login links loop back to the same page. The register links open the registration form but its content is silently ignored when submitted.
- It turns out that this is caused by an interaction between the DSL Forum software and the squid.proxy. Squid only implements HTTP/1.0 and as a consequence strips some of the HTTP headers that the DSL Ikonboard uses. I don't think this is a bug. Many sites, including Squid's Home, use Ikonboard and this is the first time in my (10-year) experience with squid that I've observed this behaviour.

Unknown user
I am somewhat of a noob to the *nix. I used it at school and now use it at work and I have made some small accomplishments getting this far but I am unable to make my DSL-based system hard-drive bootable. Due to hardware/BIOS limitations I'm currently booting from MS-DOS floppy and then running loadlin to get started.
Now I have two questions about the hdinstall function and I'd like to post to the relevant forum but I have no such privilege. I can not find documentation or other reference as to how to get posting privileges. Admins, if you're reading this, please give me access. I have the best intentions.

Other Problems with Damn Small Linux
Omega Scroll Wheel Mouse
Problem Statement
I'm unable to use my mouse with scroll wheel. Is a generic mouse, Omega.
All appear to boot OK, as soon as I move the mouse the pointer reacts OK for less than a second, then freeze and I must to close the session with the keyboard.
The same mouse run OK with Knnopix, Kolibri, and other Linux.
Suggestions
Have you tried the suggestion at Frequently_Asked_Questions#How_can_I_get_the_scroll_wheel_on_my_USB_mouse_working.3F?
