Swap USB
From DSL Wiki
Swap, virtual memory, is a useful trick for running linux on computers that dont have enough ram to run on their on. For the best swap performance use a usbflash drive of 2-4GB on usb2.0. use a partitioner and format your usb stick to linux-swap, no bigger than 4GB or it wont work, once you've done that open a terminal and type: "sudo su" then type "swapon -v 'path to device" and reboot. My system's speed was tripled by doing this. -contributed to the Damn Small Linux Wiki by ka-nacho and joeytech23, visit our site at http://www.joeytech.webs.com-
