User Feedback :: 2.6 kernel

Is there a 2.6 kernel for DSL or is a version using 2.6 being considered?

Thanks, and this makes perfect sense.   The size issue is important, but the legacy support is also very important.  I'm using DSL on an old P2 laptop as a ftp server.
i got a 2.6.11.7 kernel working on a dsl hdinstall, wasnt much bigger than the old one, it would require someone who knows what they are doing to make all the modules right, legacy support is a problem, but still, could have 2 versions. i think 2.6 is (eventually) the way to go, although keeping a 2.4.26 version for people not supported by 2.6.11.7 would be a good idea.
I remember one of the versions of Knoppix had a dual kernel, where you could choose your kernel from the boot menu.  Not the this is a good idea for the base dsl distro because of the size increase, but it might make someone a fun remastering project.
