User Feedback :: Impossible to mount /mnt/hdb in DSL 1.1
Hi guys!
Well I think the title says it all. In DSL-embedded it's impossible to mount /mnt/hdb the way it should be done, at least the way I used to do it.
Have fun guys,

mmm..It happens to me too.
I did a HD install on a second drive. swap partition is in that hd too so DSl is in Hdb2
I guess lilo changed mbr of hdb, and that's why it didn't come up when I rebooted.
But the strange thing is that I used a boot option (can't remember sintax, it was kind of bootfromhd=/dev/hdb2 ) and it didn't find any kernel there.
can it be related to Meo's problem?
Hi davide!
No, I don't think the problems are related. I'm using dsl-embedded on a usb-drive and doing this the virtual drive in qemu comes up as /mnt/hdb (or just hdb). But in the 1.1 version it can't be mounted neither with mount-app or through an xshell as root. This is possible with the 1.0.1 version. So my guess is that something isn't the way it should be with the most rescent version of dsl-embedded. It is possible though to mount it with /mnt/sda1 mounted and using something like "#mount /mnt/sda1/qemu/harddisk /mnt/test -o loop" but I don't think this is the way it's supposed to be. Thanks anyway for your input!
Have fun out there,
meo
Because you are not running DSL, but a customized remaster.
Hi again!
First some fact. I'm presently running dsl-embedded as is with no changes at all. I'm running it from an usb-drive booted with a cdrom because my bios doesn't support booting directly from usb. Under these conditions it is not possible to mount /mnt/hdb from mount.app for example. Yes it works running from within windows but since I have an 4+ years old laptop it works a little bit on the slow side. So usually I use DSL as laid out above and make no mistake I REALLY LIKE DSL AND ALWAYS HAVE SINCE I STARTED USING IT.
Have fun Y'all,
regards meo
