I'm a little dutch noobie what realy no cluw how linux works but since all my friends are playing whit linux i want to play whit it to
So i downloaded DSL and ran the livedisk than used the HDinstall tool to get it on my HD this gives a few errors :s
exp: tar: ./etc/usbmgr/vendor/066B: cannot mkdir no such file or directory
and
tar: ./etc/usbmgr/vendor/066B/****: module: cannot open: no such file ore directory
so i thought lets just copy all the files to my hd mybe that works a bit better
but it gave the same error
is this a known problem or isn't this a problem at all?
i got a 1000mhz celleron CPU and +- 700mb SDR ram

Hi Whachucallme!
Are you trying to install from the menu Apps--> Tools --> Install to Hard Drive? Or, are you trying to install to a usb-drive? The latter can be a little annoying but installing to a partition on the hard drive should work pretty smooth. With a little more into perhaps I can help you.
Have fun,

Hi meo,
a friend came over and helped me to install DSL runs great now
just downloade a linux for dummies thingie so ill know linux in no-time
but i got an other problem :s now im trying to install apache on it so i can get a LAMP (Linux Apache Mysql Php) environment. So i type gunzip apache.tar.gz then tar -xvf apache.tar but when this finnishes extracting the docs dir i get the input/output error again :s so i type hd -f hdb1 and see there is only 1% used 98.4mb of the 18.8gb so what else could be the problem of this input/output error stuff?
