Other Help Topics :: Cant boot from livecd
The problem is that DSL doesn't boot, it just freezes to the screen with the Tux pictures referring to the number of processors. (I have dualcore, so it's 2) I tried booting with several boot options, "dsl dma toram" as I usually do, then without any options at all, and finally "dsl failsafe lowram" They all just froze on the same screen. Do you know what I could do?
Some specs:
Intel Pentium D Dualcore 2,66Ghz
Club 3d nVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
nforce motherboard?
Just some guessing: try noacpi acpi=off noapm apm=off nosmp noapic
No idea if all of them are parsed by DSL.
No, my motherboard is a Gigabyte one.
The commands didn't work, DSL freezed into the same screen. Any ideas, anyone?
I didn't mean the motherboard manufacturer - I was referring to the chipsets.
Did you happen to get any other distros on that machine?
My chipset is SiS 649DX, so seemingly no problem there.
Knoppix runs just fine
