Other Help Topics :: Restricting the DSL user

My goal is to eventually deploy DSL to start old PC's and and use them as thin clients in a classroom.

Is there a how-to for a linux dummy on how to lock the DSL user down.  I want the students to be very limited on what they can do - basically they should be able to run the Citrix Client and nothing else.

Does locking the DSL user down cause me issues when it comes to remastering once I have the DSL user set up the way I want?

Thanks,

The dsl user has sudo access, which, I think, is probably the only difference (in terms of accounts) from another regular user.
It's probably easier and better to create another user, though.

Other areas you might want to make sure are secure: bootloader, disabling special k/b sequences, restricting startup apps, etc.

Ok it is not a solution for dsl, but maybe you van try Thinstation? This is a linux based thinclient, specialy to transform a old pc into a thinclient.
