Okay, I re-read your list more carefully. "The rest" would need to be divided again -- two more partitions at least -- with a 55-60 MB partition for DSL and however much Soldat wants for persistent /home and /opt on another separate partition. Your directions were for only two partitions.

Do you mean the slit?  Like the bottom right of http://damnsmalllinux.org/dsl-1rc1a.jpg ?  It was removed in DSL v2.x due to the addition of jvm, to have something that was useable between both WM's (jvm did not have something similar to the dock slit).  I think there are some MyDSL extensions if you want to use those wm dockapps (I personally prefer them).
