Is there any application out there that can be used or is native to DSL to be used as a console software for managing routers and switches?

I don't know anything about hyperterminal, but maybe ssh is what you're looking for

If you are looking for an RS232 terminal emulator like Hyperterminal, you can try:

Apps -> Net -> Microcom
