First off, I'd like to say thanks to everyone
how has made DSL and DSL-N and That
I'm pretty much a Linux N00B (i've only had DSL before)

I made a USB-HDD install.
I did this without a cd so i wouldn't have to restart
(I Followed these instructions)
I DSL-N runs great and everything works.
I started downloading some MyDsl apps etc..
It all Worked
My problem is that I want to be able to save the mydsl apps and other changes i have made.
Looking through the forum I found this link It says i can save things in /cdrom (where the thumb drive is mounted)
I Tried that but i keep getting a readonly message

Any Help would be appreciatied

-Paul

1. First make sure that you copy as superuser, root.

2. If still an issue, then that may happen when one does not use the scripts provided. Possibly you will need to add the boot option frugal which triggers a remount to allow write access.

I have already tried superuser

The install scripts provide do not work on my thumbdrive (both ZIP and HDD)

Short answer: yes
at the first boot prompt

boot: dsl frugal

Long answer:
It depends on how your frugal is installed or booted:
Could be in grub's menu.lst
Could be in lilo's /etc/lilo.conf
Or in syslinux.cfg
Or isolinux.cfg
