I am relatively new to Linux and am still trying to figure out the OS and how to install new programs.
I have installed DSL-N on an old office computer so we can use it. Unfortunately my co-workers are not comfortable with anything that doesn't look like M$ Windows. They won't touch the machine now.
I would like to install a window manager like icewm to make it easier for my co-workers. Unfortunately this is an older machine and does not currently have internet access. I cannot access any online repositories to download and install what we need.
Is there a way to install something like icewm without directly accessing the internet from the linux machine? I do have access to other computers in the office so I can download any files I need to a flash drive for transfer. I simply do not know where to go from there.
Please have sympathy, I am very new to linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated - even if that just means pointing me to another post or webpage with information. I can use all the help I can get.
Thanks.
(Same post as previous. Just changed the subject to be more specific. The original one was a bit vague.) |
