Hi there!!!

First I want to say that DSL-N Embedded linux is a great stuff!!!

I'm running DSL-N Embedded for some time, from my hard drive, and it is a little bit slow... So I have decide to use that "toram" option to speed up things a little bit.
I've added "toram" option in my dsl-windows.bat file, and it looks like this:

"REM Start qemu on windows.
@ECHO OFF

START qemu\qemu.exe -L qemu/ -no-kqemu -m 256 -soundhw sb16 -localtime -kernel linux24 -initrd minirt24.gz -hda KNOPPIX/knoppix -hdb qemu/harddisk -append "qemu sb=0x220,5,1,5 frugal quiet modules=hdb noscsi toram nofirewire atapicd noideraid noacpi acpi=off noapm noagp ide1=noprobe ide2=noprobe nomce"

CLS
EXIT
"
Problem is on startup it gives me this message:

"Copying DSL image to ramdisk... Please be patient.
link_stat /cdrom/KNOPPIX : No such file or directory
rsync error: partial transfer (code 23) at main.c(578)
link_stat /cdrom/KNOPPIX : No such file or directory
rsync error: partial transfer (code 23) at main.c(578)
Copying DSL image failed. ramdisk possibly has not enough space left.
Total memory found: 256128 kB
...."
it starts then normaly, but not in the ram
Sad .

I'll take a wild guess and say that DSL-N does not know that it is starting from a hard drive, not a CD, or that it sees only 250KB of memory instead of 1GB that is installed on my laptop...

Thanks...

The -m switch default is 256MB memory.
Try uping that.

I've tried that option, but still not working. If I add -m 512 option to the
dsl-windows.bat file, on the boot screen there is that same error message like before, but now, when the DSL is up an runnig, it shows that there is 512MB of ram.
It looks like the -m option is for increase/decrease of the ram inside
DSL, but not for the ramdisk Exclamation.

Thanks for the replay...
