I have a Gateway Astro 400Mhz Intel Celeron computer, Its an all-in-one type computer, with all USB 1.1 ports. For networking I use a NetLINE USB 10/100 Ethernet Adapter. This computer only has USB connectors, no slots to add PCI cards or I would.
DSL has always worked out of the box with this ethernet adapter, however DSL-N does not seem to recognize it. I take it that the 2.6 kernel does not have the same drivers as the 2.4 kernel.
Any help to get the adapter working with DSL-N would be appriciated |

After some poking around, i noticed that DSL was using a module called pegasus for the USB to Ethernet adapter.
so once DSL-N fired up, I opened a shell window, and typed
:> modprobe pegasus
:> pump -i eth0
and I have networking now with DSL-N on a Gateway Astro with a NetLINE USB 10/100 ethernet adapter. I am posting this message from same.
yeehaah
I think I spent more time finding windowsME drivers for the damn thing a while back |
