User Feedback :: The Wiki

Hi all,

I brought up the issue of the dormant wiki before, but while part of the userbase was quite enthusiastic about  the prospect of reopening it, the issue was unfortunately greeted with silence by the powers that be.

I am currently installing DSL 2.2 on another old laptop, and while this is not too complex if you know what you're doing (even though there are issues with the trackpad, networking, booting, etc), a less experienced linux user would have to google around the net, trying out tidbits here and there or use the forum to find help.

So, following the suggestions from the last wiki related thread, I would suggest to name a number of users allowed to alter and add to the wiki (to avoid the feared spamming avalanche) who can collect and harvest the userbase's knowledge.

I'd be happy to volunteer.

Cheers,

Fordie

If I was given access to the wiki, I would:
be willing to let people PM me or email me with their legitimate additions for the wiki.
be willing to troll the forums for requsted, specific stuff, and post to the wiki.

By far, I am not one of the DSL guru's, however, I can learn with others while doing this.
Someone needs to pick a DSL Wiki Team. The wiki needs a lot of work.

A functional wiki would definitely be usful resource. I tried using it a couple of times and found it lacking.

Let it me known that I agree with this.
I am not included in the powers that be when it comes to the Wiki.
My plate is quite full and would like to see help in this area.

Green, I may take you up on this.  The problem with the Wiki is that it was being hammered by spam, and there doesn't seem t be a way to lock it down without locking people out.
