User Feedback :: fb800x600

I boot my laptop from a DSL live CD.  How do I avoid having to type fb800x600 each time I boot up?
You'd need to remaster the CD in order to do that.
If you're booting to a harddrive-installed system, you might try a boot floppy instead of the CD.

Thank you for that info.  I made boot floppy, and it works.  I went ahead and put KNOPPIX on the hard disk . . . fine!

Now I don't know what to write in the syslinux.cfg file to make fb800x600 happen.

You could add the fb800x600 to the APPEND line

Examination of the syslinux.cfg file seemed to suggest that I should add vga=788.

Well there are lots of "append" lines in the file.   I couldn't get it to solve my problem.   Thanks anyway.
