To IM2Slick: I think the apsfilter problem is that it's widely used but has a very unprofessional, immature feel. It will install your printer but that ASCII art lettering is just stupid, as is the "postcard-ware" concept, ridiculous dialogue and the fact that the test page prints out a photo of some grinning bloke's head. DSL is a distro aimed at professional and business people, but apsfilter's development to maturity seems stalled around 1990, in some obscure Euro-college running UNIX on a SPARC.

See mikshaw's post in http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....t=10964

btw, nice smiley

Or else you may use the `find` or `gtkfind` or `updatedb && locate` tools

I cannot find the Firefox cache anywhere. I have looked in /usr/local, /usr/bin, and haven't found it.

Thanks for the link, but it didn't help :(.

If you rebooted, then your files are probably already gone, (and then you cannot use the find tools either)

Just change your firefox preferences and it'll save you a headache :P

What am I doing wrong with DSL? every time it boots, I have to replace my bookmarks, my passwords, and my downloads? This could get annoying!

I have changed the download directory to a different directory .... one that I made myself ;) I just hope that one won't disappear too!
THX <=(;-)

Well assuming you did a frugal, yes... but that is what backup/restore, and persistence are for.  (See local startup documentation)

Also, /tmp is usually not saved... well because its temporary.
