User Feedback :: Problems with boot

I tested the Windows BAT file in Windows XP Professional and DSL booted into the emulator with no problems. So I burned the ISO (latest version of DSL by the way) and restarted my comp and booted it to the CD. I hit enter, it begins to boot. All seems well, and it gets all the way to setting the resolution and mouse settings for the resolution correctly. Then it hits the problem and says this:

Code Sample
Xauth: creating new authority file /home/dsl/.Xauthority
Xauth: creating new authority file /home/dsl/.Xauthority

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining

It then stops booting and gives me a command prompt with dsl@tty1[dsl]$ as the heading to each new command.

How can I remedy this situation? Thank you in advance.

BTW I'm using a P4 2.4ghz 133fsb, 1gig dram, Geforce 4 Ti4600, mobo chipset is 8KNXP (intel), with onboard sound and ethernet.

at the Boot: prompt type "dsl xsetup"

select your preferred resolution and color depth.

or if that fails try "fb800x600" or "fb1024x768" depending on your preferred resolution.

It worked! Thank you so much.
of course it did.

Shoulda done it a long time ago...

Yet another problem, and I don't want to clutter up the topic list with my n00bish questions, so I'm posting it here.

I have onboard ethernet (same chipset as before, Intel 875p 8KNXP) and I can't get DSL to access the internet from it. It's hooked up exactly as it is on Windows XP, and Windows gets the internet.

Maybe a driver problem? I did the PPPe config (or whetever it's called) in the control panel, and it said it found 1 ethernet device (or something like that) but it had an error and it didn't work.

Help again, please!
