User Feedback :: My 500th post

Instead of dedicating this to anyone in particular, I would like to dedicate this, my 500th post to everyone who I have helped and who has helped me out here in the forums and on irc. Thanks to EVERYONE.

I would also like to make a bit of a list of what DSL does now since when I first picked it up. Just a little perspective. Compared to when I first picked it up, DSL now has...

Scroll mouse support
NTFS read capability
CD burning capability
Samba
Updated kernel x2
Busybox - waaaaay better than the hacked down bash of old
FRUGAL INSTALL - I don't know how many times i've used this. It's a LOT.
an FTP server
telnet client
the DSL Control panel
the MyDSL system <-----BIG
comperssed iso extensions (.uci)
vim (It's the new Scite!!!)
Boots straight to X   <--- way better for point and clicker's
USB install <-- use this a lot too
NDISwrapper
Ability to add users in Live-cd mode (great for temporary FTP servers)
Nice gui's for stuff like PPP setup, Xvesa, Prism 2 config, and more
Siag Office
Firefox
Mplayer

This is just what I could come up with off the top of my head and the stuff that influenced me a lot. Not to mention the endless bugfixes, updates, tweaks, and just plain amazing stuff that is packed ito the little 50mb cd so tightly that it seems like it should come apart at the seams.

I should also make a list of all the mistakes that have happened along the way, but I'm not going to. I'm not a complete pain in the butt.

Just mostly. ^_^

You think the stuff that was cut out to make room for Firefox has been controversial? I have one word for you.

Beaver.

And that was before the MyDSL system was widely used.

Maybe we should get a Beaver.dsl to spread around that little bit of pain. X_X

-J.P.

Wow, congratulations J.P.!
You put a smile on my dial recalling all the developments,
painfull and nice alike....'till you said the "B" word.
And thanks for the help you've given me and I'm sure
many others.

:)

whoooot
Heh, Beaver wasn't really that bad.

Might be better than MP...
